A sheet of acid from 1991. White blotter was the common name, and whoever made it would print an image onto every hit, or lay one image across the whole sheet.
Here the sheet is rattlesnakes, pressed from the same carved stamp as the rest of the collection. Row after row, the same gesture over and over, the paint loading heavy in places and starving in others.
One snake faces the other way.
Intentional, or a mis-print. The painting is not going to tell you, and that is the same question the whole collection keeps asking, run through a piece of paper whose entire purpose was to change how you see everything else.
